In an attempt not to feel stagnant
[Pridefest, Milwaukee, June 2006]
Tattoos are common now, but for some reason, people were shocked that I just got one. Whatever the "tattoo type" is, people have been telling me that I'm not that type.
Hmm.
I suppose that's why I did it. I needed to shake things up. I needed to do something I thought I'd never do.
I needed to surprise people.
I needed to surprise myself.

Type, schmype! Your tattoo is great, and I agree that it's good to shake things up! I really want one eventually, and yours just reignited that. Maybe this summer!

I have to say I wasn't the least bit surprised that you got a tattoo. And truthfully, I really don't think there is a "type' anymore.
I've always enjoyed your photography and am looking forward to seeing it on a regular basis again. You have a unique "eye" for things.

I agree, there isn't a type of people anymore that gets a tatoo. It is a personal decision, and as long as it has meaning to you it's fine... or heck, just get one for fun, it's all good to me.
